MEMPHIS – The deal is done.
It took awhile but the Grizzlies and Luke Kennard have finally agreed to terms, adding what looks to be the final piece to a talented and deep Memphis roster.
After declining to exercise their almost 15 million dollar team option on Kennard, the two sides agreed on a one year, 11 million dollar deal for one of the nba’s top three point threats.
Kennard shot 45 percent from behind the line last year. A year where he averaged 11 points and three and a half assists a game for the Grizzlies.
For his career, Kennard is shooting just a tick under 44-percent from 3-point range. So a must have addition for a Grizz team that was one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the NBA last year when they ranked second to last. That’s 29th out of 30 teams at under 35 percent.
