2023-24 wasn’t good for the Memphis Grizzlies, but 2024-25 could be great.
After months away from the game recovering from surgery, Ja Morant is set to return to the Grizzlies.
A new video shared by shot by nie and Overtime, via NBACentral, shows Morant on a practice court, putting on moves, racing back and forth, and posting some smooth shots.
This is exactly what followers of the Grizzlies want to see.
Morant averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game in the 2023-24 season.
The only problem was that he played in just nine games because of a suspension and injury.
He was suspended from the first 25 games of the season, which put the Grizzlies in a very deep hole.
But when he was finally able to play, he was looking great and was easily the most important player on the team.
Sadly, he injured himself just nine games later and was forced to have surgery.
The rest of the season was a complete wash for the Grizzlies and they ended up as the 13th seed with a 27-55 record.
Morant wasn’t the only one with bad luck and multiple stars on the roster were on the bench because of injuries.
For a number of reasons, the Grizzlies are ready to put that season in the rearview mirror.
Now Morant is back and healthy and the Western Conference could look very different this year.
If he plays like this all year, remains healthy, and doesn’t make any off-court mistakes, the Grizzlies could be back in the playoffs.
In fact, they could be one of the most fearsome teams in their conference.
Morant is ready for the season and so are Memphis fans.
