A few weeks ago, Duke fans were a bit nervous that Jon Scheyer had not garnered any recruits yet.
That’s changed rather quickly.
After getting commitments from the highly regarded Boozer twins – Cameron and Cayden – Scheyer got a surprise commitment from California wing Nikolas Khamenia, a rapidly rising forward.
Most analysts put Duke’s class at #1 nationally, but there may still be more to come. There are a few targets Scheyer is clearly after: Nate Ament, Acaden Lewis and Shelton Henderson.
We’ve seen different things about Ament and Lewis. Some people seem to think Kentucky is favored for Lewis, for instance.
Currently the most interesting player may be Henderson.
A native of Bellaire, Texas, a city in the Houston orbit, there are three predictions for Duke in Henderson’s Crystal Ball, all from The Devils Den. They’re generally well plugged in though. Still, take it for what it’s worth – Khamenia was widely expected to pick UCLA. Nothing is certain until it’s done.
You can say this with some certainty though: Duke fans probably aren’t nervous anymore.
