Billy arrives at the club alongside his role as a lecturer at AECC University College, where he teaches on the Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation masters course.
He will oversee the care of all first-team players, treating them as and when required and liaising with the team’s management, hospitals, and specialists if necessary. He will also take on match-day responsibility for player care on and off the pitch.
Billy has previously worked with various clubs across the south coast, including Bashley, Eastleigh and, most recently, promotion-winning Wimborne Town.
He also spent two and a half years working with the academy teams at AFC Bournemouth.
Billy told the club’s website why he was joining Salisbury FC. “I was thoroughly enjoying my time at Wimborne and had no intention of leaving when the opportunity came up at Salisbury.
“After meeting with Brian and Callum, everything felt right, and it’s the place where I want to take my next step. It’s a step up in footballing level and a chance for me to progress in sports rehabilitation. “
Since joining the club, Billy has already spent time talking to and assessing the current squad of players to make sure everyone is ready for the start of pre-season training.
On Billy joining the backroom team, Brian Dutton said, “I’m really pleased to bring Billy in. He mirrors our squad. He’s young, ambitious and talented. I’m sure the players will enjoy working with him. Also, he was a former goalkeeper in his playing days, which is handy.”
