Grizzlies star Ja Morant is listed as probable for Saturday’s game against the Jazz at FedExForum.
Morant missed Friday’s win over the Pelicans with an illness. Coach Taylor Jenkins said Friday that he hoped Morant and forward Santi Aldama — who also missed Friday’s game with an illness — would be able to return Saturday. Aldama is listed as out for Saturday’s game.
The Grizzlies had an off day on Thursday, and Jenkins said both Morant and Aldama reported cold symptoms overnight before Friday’s game. Aldama left Wednesday’s win over the Hornets because of an illness.
Memphis (30-15) has won five straight games, while Utah (10-32) has lost four straight and is in last place in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies are 12-7 this season when Morant does not play and 18-8 when he’s in the lineup.
Jake LaRavia (back) is listed as doubtful. Vince Williams Jr. (ankle), Cam Spencer (thumb) and Marcus Smart (finger) are also listed as out. Two-way players Yuki Kawamura and Zyon Pullin are with the Memphis Hustle of the G League.
