As the Notre Dame football team turns its attention to the 2026 recruiting class, there are a few players that stand out and Kaydon Finley certainly falls into that group.
The Irish are still working on putting its staff back together after Chad Bowden and Zaire Turner headed to USC, but the addition of Chris Ash has allowed head coach Marcus Freeman to spend more time upgrading the roster. It looks like that little extra attention has paid off as the Fighting Irish are among the leaders to land Finley’s commitment, according to at least one analyst.
According to On3’s Mike Singer, the Notre Dame football team is now the favorite to get the Kaydon Finley commitment. In doing so, the Golden Domers would be adding a wide receiver prospect that is in that site’s Top 125 players in the entire class.
Notre Dame football becomes the leader of the pack for Kaydon Finley
Finley, a consensus 4-star wide receiver prospect, doesn’t have a consensus on where he will end up. 247Sports’ Jordan Scruggs has put in a Crystal Ball for the Texas Longhorns. Granted, even with that prediction, there is reason for optimism among Blue and Gold fans considering that prediction is from July of 2024.
Lots can happen to change a recruit’s mind in that long a time.
It doesn’t appear there has been much buzz for any one team since then. And Finley just paid a visit to South Bend. He seemed to like what he saw, telling Irish Sports Daily that, “I think Coach Freeman is one of the best coaches that I’ve personally been with. I think he’s one of the best in the game for sure. He’s a very genuine person. I think he’s a head coach anybody in the nation would run through a wall for. I think of him really highly.”
It’s possible that Kaydon Finley has decided that he wants to run through a wall for Marcus Freeman as a member of the next class of commitments for the Notre Dame football team.
