Although the 2025 NFL Draft is still a little over two months away, nothing can stop Black and Gold faithful from jumping on the hype train to see who is being linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers via mock drafts.
In the NFL’s latest 2025 mock draft, Dan Parr predicted that the Pittsburgh Steelers would land their stud wide receiver in the first round—but not Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka.
Instead, Parr projected a different star receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers—Matthew Golden out of the University of Texas.
Golden had a breakout 2024 season for the Longhorns, accumulating 987 receiving yards and 9 TDs on just 58 receptions.
In support of his mock draft decision, Parr provided this brief breakdown of the Steelers’ situation:
“Whoever is taking snaps at quarterback for Pittsburgh next season could use an upgraded receiving corps. Golden can be the big-play complement to George Pickens that the Steelers have sorely lacked.”
Should the Pittsburgh Steelers draft Golden over Egbuka, or should the team forgo drafting a first-round wide receiver altogether?
