Kaizer Chiefs are going to be making big changes to their squad in the next transfer window.
CHIEFS SET TO FREE UP FOREIGN SPOTS
Chiefs are planning to sign a couple of international players.
“They are already planning for next season and looking at the players, they want to bring in other foreign players,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.
However, they currently have the maximum amount of registered foreign-based players. The PSL permits a total of five foreign-based players per side.
Currently, Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel, Edmilson Dove, Edson Castillo and Glody Lilepo occupy these spots. Meaning, one or two of these stars will likely be released at the end of the season.
As things stand, Chiefs have decided to let go of this R10-million foreign star. Moreover, they are likely to release this R12-million foreign star too. Therefore, only Lilepo is safe given that he recently joined the Soweto giants.
“There is no doubt he is a talented midfielder but he is not what the coach is looking for. He is believed to be a bit slow from what the coach prefers. So, they want to give him a chance to play at a team where his talent and way of playing will be appreciated. That’s why they looking to loan him,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.

Kaizer Chiefs R24 million target ‘wants a return to Gauteng’
Kaizer Chiefs have received encouragement in their chase for a priority transfer target who could arrive in June.
Basadien wants a return to Gauteng, Kaizer Chiefs to pounce?
Since moving to Stellenbosch FC from Swallows in 2022, Fawaaz Basadien has become one of the most dependable left-backs in South Africa. When the now-defunct Swallows sold him, they included a 30% sell-on clause in his contract. The 28-year-old Stellies star wants to move back to Soweto. The left-back role has been a job-share at the Winelands side this season.
Stellies are stocked at left-back, advantage Chiefs?
Basadien has made 32 appearances across all competitions with 16 in the league, with three goals and three assists. Former Chiefs youngster Omega Mdaka, still only 21, has also been heavily involved with 14 appearances across all competitions. If Stellies feel that Basadien wants to leave, they already have a replacement lined up and he’s in their first XI already. Kaizer Chiefs will be delighted to see how Mdaka has matured, although that’s a bittersweet one for them to swallow as he came through their development ranks.

Chiefs promote Nkgwesa
19-year-old utility defence Kabelo Nkgwesa has been promoted to the club’s first-team setup. With Happy Mashiane failing to impress when given a chance at left-back, Bradley Cross is the club’s only genuine option in that position. Edmilson Dove, just back from injury, is the wrong side of 30 and a natural central defender. The thinking is that Basadien would be the incumbent in the left-back position.
