Arsenal Player Ready To Depart From Club After A Single Season

The Athletic reports that the Portuguese player will be permitted to go if Arsenal can find a successor.

The Portuguese joined Mikel Arteta’s team a year ago for just over £7 million, but failed to establish a regular starting role during his debut season in England.

Nuno Tavares, an Arsenal defender, may leave the club after just one season because French team Marseille is interested in acquiring him on loan.

In his debut season with the Gunners, the 22-year-old made just 13 Premier League starts, with Kieran Tierney frequently favoured in the position.

Given the defender’s recent struggles, a loan transfer may be advantageous for all sides, with Arsenal able to allow the player to depart temporarily in order to play regularly for the first team.

William Saliba, a fellow Gunners defender, spent the previous season on loan with the French team and had a good campaign. He started 36 Ligue 1 games as they finished second and qualified for the Champions League.

Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, and Marquinhos have already arrived at the Emirates, indicating that Arsenal has been active in the early stages of the transfer market.

Tavares’ lone goal from the previous campaign came in April when Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-1.
