Georgia football has another massive recruiting event coming up this weekend as Kirby Smart and his staff are gearing up to host their second Junior Day of the year. While UGA will be bringing in a lot of talent from all across the country, there will be a few names that stand out more than others.
And one of those players is a recruit that has been committed to a rival of Georgias for over a year now, but it looks like Georgia will be given every chance to change his mind and commit to Georgia instead.
4-star WR Denairius Gray
Denairius Gray is a four-star wide receiver and one of the top players in the entire 2026 recruiting class. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Gray is the No. 211 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 35 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 33 player from his home state of Florida.
Gray has been committed to rival Auburn since January of 2024, but Georgia is looking to get involved and potentially steal him from the Tigers. Georgia offered Gray a few weeks ago, but after he received the offer there hasn’t been any other news that has come out since. That however changed on Monday when Jeremy Johnson with On3 confirmed that Gray will be in Athens this weekend during Georgia’s next Junior Day.
It will be interesting to see how this visit goes for Gray this weekend. Georgia clearly has a lot of ground to make up in this recruitment, but the fact that he is giving UGA a chance to change his mind is very exciting. And hopefully Georgia is able to do just that because it is always nice to steal a recruit from one of Georgia’s biggest rivals.
