The Miami Heat have signed guard Josh Christopher to a two-way contract, subsequently waiving former Florida guard Zyon Pullin, the team announced Thursday.
Christopher, who concluded last season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat’s G-League affiliate, averaged 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals in eight combined Summer League games with the Heat.
He shot 50.5 percent from the floor, 48.8 from 3-point range while sinking all 18 of his free-throw attempts. His 68.2 effective field goal percentage and 72.0 true-shooting percentage ranked No. 4 and 2 on the team, respectively.
Christopher earned the Summer League Finals MVP after tallying 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting and 6-of-10 from 3-point range in the winning effort. He also scored 20 points in the fourth quarter alone–23 in total–on July 15 against the Oklahoma City Thunder while conjuring a pair of other 20-point performances against the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors (semifinals).
The former first-round pick is still younger (22) than Heat second-year forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. (23), despite getting drafted in 2021 by the Houston Rockets. Christopher has appeared in 138 career NBA games (four starts), posting 6.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 15.4 minutes on 45.5/27.7/74.0 shooting splits.
Pullin, an undrafted signee in 2024 NBA Draft, was underwhelming in Summer League after inking a two-way contract upon signing. He averaged 5.9 points and 1.9 assists in 14.5 minutes across nine games. He can still remain in Miami’s system with the Sioux Falls Skyforce should another team not scoop him up.
