Allan Langer has reportedly been axed as the Broncos’ on-field trainer ahead of the 2025 season, instead giving him a role away from the day-to-day activities of the team.
That is according to The Daily Telegraph, who are reporting Brisbane bosses will shift Langer into a role as a corporate ambassador, working closely with the club’s sponsors.
Langer is widely considered the club’s greatest ever player, but the departure of Kevin Walters reportedly took a toll on the legendary Bronco.

The 58-year-old has run water and also been a mentor to the Brisbane squad across the last 20 years.
The Broncos move to oust former coach Kevin Walters reportedly hit Langer hard and left the 58-year-old “shattered” and tossing up whether he’d continue his role as trainer for the club in 2025.
New coach Michael Maguire began his tenure as Broncos coach on Wednesday, with Langer’s role reportedly one of many decisions he will have to make in the coming weeks.
“Alf will be in the organisation,” Maguire said to News Corp.
“I haven’t really had a chance to see him properly yet, but I have spoken to Alf over the phone and he’s a great man.
“I’ve been able to spend some time with him over the years.
“Now that I’m moving up, I want to sit down with Alf and see how best it all fits in together.”
Maguire also made it clear that Langer’s legacy will continue at the Broncos, even if it means he’s not involved with the squad.
