IOWA CITY, Iowa– Former Hawkeye Caitlin Clark continues to emerge as one of the most dynamic box-office athletes in the world. On Friday, the WNBA released the early voting for the 2024 all-star game. The Indiana Fever star ranked second in total votes, first among guards. She only trailed Las Vegas Aces superstar A’Ja Wilson.
The Indiana Fever have now won four straight home games for the first time since August 2015. The duo of Aliyah Boston and Clark are really starting to gel together and are proving that they could be one of the most lethal 1-2 combos for years to come.
After dropping 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in her last game, Clark has registered five games of 15+ points, 5+ assists and 5+ rebounds. No other rookie has achieved that since Breanna Stewart did so in 2016 with the Seattle Storm. Every player that has averaged 15/5/5 has made an All-WNBA team in the same season.
First returns of WNBA All-Star 2024 fan votes are out — and Caitlin Clark is just 1k votes out of FIRST. Teammate Aaliyah Boston is third.

Clark also added four steals. She became the fifth player in WNBA history (and first rookie) to reach those numbers in a single game. It hasn’t been a season without its ups and downs. Clark has been held to single-digits in four games this season, including a career-low three against the New York Liberty.
Still, there hasn’t been a rookie in WNBA history with more pressure than the former Iowa star. She has enjoyed the journey with her new team and it seems that after playing their first 11 games in 20 days, the group is starting to piece it together.
“I’m not on social media, so I don’t see a lot of it. But you would be surprised,” Clark said of all of the noise surrounding her name. “I still have my TV on in my house and I’m watching sports and you’re still aware of it, and you still see it. But other than that, my focus is basketball.”
“Going from college basketball and now the WNBA, some of the crowds are unprecedented and had never been seen before,” Clark recently said. “The viewership’s amazing. But yeah, I mean, I try to block it out.”
Prior to the season, the former Iowa star said that the goal for the team was to make the WNBA Playoffs. Something that Indiana hasn’t done since 2016. After winning three straight games, the Fever currently sit in the eighth place slot. They will take on the Atlanta Dream on Friday night and will be back in action again on Sunday against the Chicago Sky.
