The WNBA has officially announced its final MVP rankings. Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson has unanimously received the MVP award after attaining all 67 votes.
While Wilson was always viewed as the clear frontrunner, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been a name flying around the MVP conversation for the past few weeks.
As the voting rounded out, it was revealed that Clark finished No. 4 in the list, behind Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and Breanna Stewart.
Clark did not receive a single first- or second-place vote. She earned six third-place votes, 26 fourth-place votes, and 22 fifth-place votes.
Clark finished her rookie season averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA rookie class in average points and led the league in average assists.
She looks to be the leading candidate to win Rookie of the Year, with Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese as the most notable candidate battling Clark for the award. Reese had one fourth-place vote and three total points in the MVP rankings.
Clark led the Fever back into the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They capped off the year as the No. 6 team in the WNBA with a 20-20 record, earning their first 20-win season since 2015.
Indiana will play its first playoff game on Sunday against the Connecticut Sun. If need be, the best-of-three series will have its first two games played in Connecticut and Game 3 in Indiana.
