Forgotten man David Datro Fofana appears to have found himself a loan for the upcoming season after being deemed not good enough to come on our preseason tour, and has reportedly agreed to join Premier League newcomers Leicester City on loan.
The Foxes are now “ironing out talks to finalize” the move, which might have an option to make the transfer permanent as well. (Not sure how you “iron out talks”, but hopefully there will be no wrinkles.)
Fofana, one of many low-risk/high-reward youngsters signed by the current administration to bloat the squad in the last couple years, has yet to reward the €10m or so that we saw fit to spend on him in January 2023. Of course, he is just 21 and has a contract through 2029, so he’s got plenty of time to do so — either with actual goals or the sweet, sweet smell of profits, beybee.
The Côte d’Ivoire international striker managed 6 total goals in 32 appearances in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and Premier League last season while on loan at Union Berlin and then Burnley.
