There’s a long way to go with Caleb Wilson, a 6-9 5-star forward from the class of 2025 but Duke is definitely interested and Jon Scheyer has an interesting in: he’s working with Team USA Men’s U18 National Team at the training camp, which means that Wilson is getting an early taste of what it would be like to play for Scheyer because basically, he is.
Here’s what Wilson says about Scheyer, according to Zagsblog: “I like [being here with and being coached by Jon Scheyer]. Coach Scheyer has instilled confidence with me throughout the camp. I started the camp with a knee injury and he’s helped me push through that mentally, so I appreciate him for that and he’s a good coach for sure.”
Wilson is a major target and he will be getting plenty of attention. UNC has been in pursuit for a long time and Kentucky’s Mark Pope is also looking. So is Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas and Georgia Tech.
It should be an interesting pursuit.
