The Memphis Grizzlies (3-3) won their sixth straight matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks (1-4), 122-99, to conclude their four-game home stand Thursday at FedExForum.
Ja Morant notched his 12th career triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists in 29 minutes. Morant clinched the triple-double in just over 21 minutes, making it the eighth-fastest triple-double in league history. Santi Aldama scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Jaylen Wells tallied a career-high 16 points in his first career start. All five of the Grizzlies’ starters scored in double figures.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double with 37 points and 11 rebounds. Brook Lopez scored 12 points, shooting 3-of-6 from behind the arc, while Bobby Portis grabbed 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Grizzlies used a 19-1 run in the first quarter to take a 16-point lead by the end of the period, 40-24. The Bucks entered tonight allowing the second-fewest paint points in the league, but Memphis recorded 24 points in the paint, the most the Grizzlies have totaled in any quarter this season, and had 68 paint points overall.
By halftime, Morant became the fifth player to record 21 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the first half of a game since the 1996-97 season.
The Bucks trailed by 31 points in the fourth quarter, their largest deficit of the season.
Memphis held on to their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
Memphis outrebounded Milwaukee 56-38, including a 49-29 advantage on the defensive glass.
The Grizzlies’ sixth straight win over the Bucks established their longest winning streak ever in the overall series and extended Milwaukee’s longest active losing streak over any single opponent.
