Mitch Hardie has taken out the Cats 2024 VFL Best and Fairest, capping off a consistent season from the on-baller.
Hardie featured in 19 games and finished the Best and Fairest count with 223 votes, taking out the award 35 votes clear of second place.
The midfielder averaged 29 disposals and six clearances per game, while also pushing forward to boot 14 goals.
The award caps off a stellar 2024 campaign for Hardie, which saw him collect 30 disposals or more on eight different occasions.
Ted Clohesy was recognised for his strong year, finishing in second position with 188 votes.
2024 was another impressive season for Clohesy averaging 22 disposals, seven tackles and a goal per game while spending time through the midfield and across half forward.
The Runner-Up finish follows on from Clohesy’s third placing in the 2023 VFL Best and Fairest, continuing to develop his game while getting experiences at the top level.
Ted earned two AFL appearances in 2024 after debuting in the final round of the 2023 season.
Mitch Knevitt rounded out the podium placings, finishing third with 177 votes.
Playing in numerous positions across the ground, Knevitt featured in 16 matches for the VFL Cats averaging 23 disposals and five clearances per game. Knevitt was rewarded for his strong form throughout the year, called up to the AFL team on four occasions.
Marcus Herbert (175 votes) and captain Dan Caprion (174 votes) led the way for the VFL listed players, finishing in fourth and fifth place respectively.
George Stevens (165 votes), Emerson Jeka (163 votes), Connor O’Sullivan (152 votes), Jed Bews (129 votes) and Patrick Hughes (129 votes) rounded out the top ten.
