Manchester City Possible Line Up After Kalvin Phillips Transfer

In order to win five Premier League titles in six seasons, Manchester City will do so with at least two new additions to their star-studded squad.

After agreeing to a £45 million deal from Leeds United, Kalvin Phillips is expected to enter the building after Erling Haaland has already done so.

City set their eyes on a new left-back and central midfielder after once again winning the league, in addition to eventually bringing in a top-tier replacement for Sergio Aguero, who left after 10 amazing years last summer. Even before the start of the preseason, Pep Guardiola seems to have wooed two of his top targets.

Even under the best of circumstances, it might be difficult to question Guardiola’s team selection. Those crucial choices, though, are about to get much trickier since Phillips is going to have to agree to certain personal terms, and Haaland will start giving him additional things to think about in the upcoming season.

Arsenal is still hopeful that they will sign Gabriel Jesus, and outgoings may yet be authorized. Other players who have been linked with departures include Ilkay Gundogan and England winger Raheem Sterling. However, the additions of Phillips and Haaland balance out the exits of Fernandinho and Aguero.

Marc Cucurella, a defender for Brighton, has received a lot of support for becoming a third prominent hire. However, as long as Phillips is approved after agreeing to a sum that starts at £42 million with $3 million in add-ons, City and Guardiola may be happy with the business they have thus far.

With more than a month until the start of the season, additional work in the transfer market may be done, but Guardiola will be gifted with a variety of excellent possibilities in every part of the field nonetheless. Ederson is without a doubt the finest, but when the action resumes, a number of other concerns require careful attention.

The addition of Phillips may have altered Guardiola’s plans for his starting lineup, but there is always an opportunity for change depending on the opponent, competition, or stage of the game for injuries and bans.

Keep John Stones, Rodri, Jack Grealish, and other players in mind as MEN Sport analyses one path City might pursue for the most important games of the next season.

Possible strongest City XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Phillips, Bernardo, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Foden.
