Hawthorn ruckman Ned Reeves is edging closer to a return from a back injury, while midfielder Cooper Stephens has been added to the club’s injury list.
High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on the duo below.
Ned Reeves (back) – 1 week
“He’s tracking really well. He’ll return to some football training this week and we’re aiming to look at match play the following week. The last week has been really good, we’ve been able to get into some conditioning and running and some good work under his belt. Now the next step is to progress to some controlled football skills this week with the plan next week to have a full week of training and back into match play.”
Cooper Stephens (concussion) – 1-2 weeksÂ
“Cooper had an incident in the VFL game, a concussion incident, and was withdrawn from the game. He will now go through the medical process, the staggered and staged process, of the 12-day concussion protocol. It can be more days sometimes depending on symptoms and how players recover but the early signs are good that he will progress through that as we expect. There’s a VFL bye this weekend so he will work towards the next game the week after.”
