Nuno Espirito Santo‘s summer window at Forest is well underway with players having already come and gone from the City Ground.
Evangelos Marinakis has already sanctioned the sale of Moussa Niakhate to Lyon which has eased Forest’s concerns when it comes to the PSR deadline.
And the deals look set to continue at Forest with the Reds believed to be in talks over a potential trade deal with one of their Premier League rivals.
Nottingham Forest in talks over £40m Premier League player
Talks are reportedly underway between Forest and Newcastle United over a potential swap deal for winger Anthony Elanga.
It has been claimed the two clubs have discussed the possibility of swapping Elanga and Newcastle academy graduate Elliot Anderson.
The Toon are one of the sides in the Premier League who are finding themselves falling the wrong side of the PSR deadline.
But it now seems there may be a different player who could be involved in the potential deal between the two sides.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have also discussed the possibility of including Yankuba Minteh in their interest in Elanga.
The two clubs are said to be discussing a number of potential deals with talks having intensified over the last 24 hours as the deadline nears.
Minteh is one of the players who has been discussed between the two sides with Newcastle keen to sell the winger this month.
The Gambian forward was set for a £40m move to Ligue 1 side Lyon, but the youngster refused to make the move.
Yankuba Minteh could offer Forest Anthony Elanga replacement
Anderson has been one of Newcastle’s promising youngsters over recent years having made the leap into the first team from the academy.
However, in Minteh, Forest could find themselves a more direct replacement for Elanga with the Gambian having impressed in Eredivisie last season.
Across all competitions, Minteh was able to provide a return of 11 goals and six assists for Feyenoord.
Igor Paixo – Minteh’s former teammate – told the Dutch media just how promising a player the 19-year-old is.
“Yankuba keeps going. He has so much power and speed. An exceptional talent in an exceptionally strong phase of his career,” he told AD.
