Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to talking to the media.
Mahomes talks to the media every week during the season and answers a ton of questions, including some that aren’t in good faith.
Recently, Mahomes spoke to Rob Riggle and discussed his “secret” on how he handles bad questions from media members.
“I think what I’ve done, what I’ve mastered, is being able to say a lot of words without saying anything at all. So that’s my go-to whenever I get a question I might not like, I’ll just say a lot of words, but it really means nothing,” Mahomes said, (first transcribed by Awful Announcing).
This is also something that coaches and general managers do when they get asked odd questions during press conferences. They’ll say a lot of words without saying much at all or try to dance around it to get to the next question.
Heck, some coaches and managers also only provide a couple of words for their answers before moving on.
It’s a good tactic to master and shows that Mahomes knows how to play the game.
The Chiefs will open the 2024 season against the Baltimore Ravens at 8:20 p.m. ET on September 5.
