Predicted Lineup: Rangers Vs Kilmarnock As Ridvan Yilmaz Ready
To recover from their Champions League loss in Belgium, Giovanni van Bronckhorst must make difficult selections.
Nobody at Rangers will have any doubts about the necessity of a swift response. On Tuesday, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team suffered severe injuries in Belgium, and they left with their Champions League hopes hanging in the balance.

The opportunity to make amends will present itself when Union Saint-Gilloise visit Ibrox the following week, but first, there is home business to attend to. On Saturday, Rangers welcomes Kilmarnock to the stadium in need of a statement performance and the crucial three points.
Van Bronckhorst’s team were forced to dig deep against a resolute Livingston last Saturday and it’s likely to be a similar story this weekend. Derek McInnes will have his side well drilled and ready to frustrate but also with an eye on causing an upset in Glasgow.
He may just face a Rangers team with several changes from Tuesday, so poor was their midweek showing. New signing Ridvan Yilmaz insists he’s ready to play and he could replace Borna Barisic at left-back. James Sands was far from Rangers’ worst offender but Van Bronckhorst may feel it’s time to get Ben Davies into his backline.
In midfield, Rangers badly lacked a spark with Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and John Lundstram and the manager could call on Steven Davis to come in and set the tempo against Killie. Malik Tillman looks a threat and he could keep his place, while Ryan Kent is expected to return and Tom Lawrence will feel he deserves a chance to start.
Up top, Rangers fans are desperate for the return of Alfredo Morelos but a starting berth may just come too soon for the Colombian, plus the fact Van Bronckhorst will want to give Antonio Colak every chance to open his account – dropping the new man now could have long-term effects on his confidence.
Predicted Rangers XI:
McLaughlin; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Yilmaz; Davis, Lundstram; Lawrence, Tillman, Kent; Colak.
