Talks are said to be at an advanced stage for Adama Traore with Nils Koppen also speaking to Albion Rrahmani about a possible £5m move to Ibrox.
The Rangers director must never be off his phone as it emerges that discussions for another target are well under way.
Rangers in talks for Yusuf Kabadayi with price tag quoted
According to The 4th Official, recently linked Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi has been the subject of a bid from Rangers with a fee said to be in the region of £1-1.5m.
The 20-year old has just completed a season long loan deal with Schalke and only has 12-months left on his Bayern contract.
The 6ft 1inch tall flyer has a top speed hot on the heels of Kylian Mbappe, and Philippe Clement will hope he has the quality and control to match.
It is an area that Rangers really need more depth, especially with Abdallah Sima returning to Brighton.
Any hopes of a return for the Senegal international have been put on hold until the south coast outfit find a new manager, even if there is optimism around the halls of Auchenhowie.
The recurring trend for the players that have been linked is that they are all athletic and have plenty of pace to burn.
Kabadayi is similar to Sima in that he is tall, fast, athletic and can score a goal except he is a better ball carrier capable of using either foot.
Almost more of a wide forward than an out and out winger like Oscar Cortes.
Capped at Under-20 level for Germany, Kabadayi has plenty of potential and, for the fee mentioned, could be a bargain.
Kabadayi is profile Rangers need to target this summer
It is this type of signing that Rangers need to make more of – calculated punts.
Players with good foundations and footballing education who have shown at youth level that they have something about them.
These signings come with a caveat, they won’t always work.
However, as seen with Alfredo Morelos, when it works, it really works.
Rangers winger collective is currently Cortes, Scott Wright, Ross McCausland and Rabbi Montondo.
Koppen will probably be looking for buyers for Wright and Matondo which leaves space for two more.
Even if they can’t be sold, upgrading in these areas is key to Rangers chances of success.
Kabadayi looks to have the qualities needed to be a success in Scotland, is a good price and a good age, all Koppen has to do is persuade him that his future lies in the SPFL.
