Brent Barry spent 14 years playing in the NBA and has spent plenty of time working behind the scenes in the league.
Now he has a new job.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Barry, who spent the past six seasons as part of the San Antonio Spurs’ front office, is joining the Phoenix Suns as an assistant coach.
Barry will be joining a blossoming coaching staff centered around Mike Budenholzer and will be tasked with helping the team deliver on all its talent and potential.
Barry played for six teams over his 14-year career.
He got his start with the Los Angeles Clippers before moving on to the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets.
His time with the Spurs was most memorable and he won two championships with the team in 2005 and 2007.
Barry’s career average was 9.3 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, shooting 46% from the field and 40.5% from the three-point line.
Following his time in the NBA, Barry worked for various teams and most recently returned to San Antonio to help the Spurs.
