According to Le Parisien reporter Marc Mechenoua, Liverpool FC defender Billy Koumetio is reportedly on the radar of Scottish Premier League side Dundee United.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, where he played only one game, and has been conspicuous in his absence from Arne Slot’s preseason training sessions.
That’s probably a sign that the club wants to move him on. Once hailed as a “big talent” by Jurgen Klopp, big Billy made two senior appearances for the club but has failed to make the leap since then. His past couple of years have been marked with a series of disastrous loan moves to Austria Wien and USL Dunkerque, with both loans ending in early recalls. Mental mistakes have been a criticism often levelled at Koumetio, and he did himself no favours, getting himself sent off in his debut for Dunkerque, on the 52th minute mark for two bookable offences.
Perhaps Dundee United will be able to offer him the stability and game time at the right level of football that he sorely needs right now.
