The Seattle Seahawks officially announced the hiring of Rick Dennison as run-game coordinator and Justin Outten as run-game specialist and assistant offensive-line coach on Tuesday.
Dennison, who had a nine-year career as a linebacker for the Denver Broncos, also has a lengthy coaching résumé that includes stops with the Broncos, Texans, Ravens, Bills, Jets, Vikings and Saints, including offensive-coordinator roles with the Broncos, Texans and Bills.
Outten was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos in 2022 when new Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was the passing-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Outten was the running-backs coach and run-game coordinator for the Titans in 2023 and served as Tennessee’s tight-ends coach last season.
WSU FOOTBALL
Washington State will begin its spring practice schedule March 1 with the first of 15 practice dates that conclude April 12 with the annual Crimson and Gray Game at Gesa Field, the school announced Tuesday.
Additionally, the Cougars will hold an open practice at One Spokane Stadium on March 29 in Spokane.

• Spokane Chiefs captain and Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton was named the WHL Player of the Week.
Catton led all WHL skaters with two goals and seven assists for nine points in three games while helping the Chiefs clinch a playoff berth.
• Seattle Thunderbirds netminder Scott Ratzlaff was named the WHL Goaltender of the Week.

• Washington State’s Sam Renner shot a 2-under 69 and sits one shot off the lead after the second day of The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif.
TRACK & FIELD
• Seattle Pacific’s Annika Esvelt (women’s 3,000 meters), Hannah Chang (women’s 60-meter hurdles) and Andrew Bell (men’s 60-meter hurdles) took home titles at the GNAC indoor track & field championships in Spokane.
