A win is a win. A basic line, sure, but the Phoenix Suns need to start stacking these things to be competitive out west. And you know what? Despite the pile of shit they’ve been through thus far this season that feels like it’s stacked up as high as that triceratops’ dung pile in Jurrasic Park, the Suns aren’t that far behind.
The Memphis Grizzlies currently hold the second seed in the Western Conference with an 18-8 record. The Suns, sitting at 14-11 and occupying the sixth seed, are just 3.5 games back and trail by only three games in the loss column.

The “disease of what if”, as I like to call it, will always have us wondering where this team would be if they stayed healthy through the first 25 games of the season. The West is tough, but it is also beating itself up, which opens the door for opportunity. Win the games you should.
That’s what Phoenix did on Sunday night, beating the Portland Trail Blazers 116-109. For the second consecutive game, they beat a team they should. Take advantage of the scheduling. I just feel better when they do.
Bright Side Baller Season Standings:
Kevin Durant re-entered the chat on Friday, and the impact was immediate. While he didn’t lead the scoring against the Utah Jazz, his presence on the court was a clear reminder of what winning feels like. Durant claimed the BSB for his performance, moving him up to second place for the year.
Bright Side Baller Nominees:
Okay, the Suns did win this one. I might not be a fan of the opposing team thinking this is the summer of 2023 and going full Oppenheimer against us. I wasn’t thrilled with allowing 39 points to the Jazz in the first quarter. But a win is a win. So let’s get to the players who made it possible.
