PSG‘s initial option to replace Mauricio Pochettino, who is poised to be officially ousted in the coming days, was Zidane, according to Sportsmail.

The club is rumored to be looking for a new manager with a track record of success in the Champions League, which they have yet to win.

When it comes to casting his thoughts forward, however, the strategist hasn’t revealed anything.

he told the newspaper:

‘I want to continue,’

‘I still have this spark, football is my love.’ ‘I’m 50 years old, fulfilled, and happy, and that’s what matters.’

After leaving Real Madrid in May of last year, Zidane took a year off.

He departed for the second time, although during his first tenure in command, he led them to a hat-trick of Champions League triumphs and 11 trophies in all.

Since being jobless, the World Cup champion has been connected with a variety of high-profile positions, including coaching the France national team.

He was supposed to have met with club directors there to finalize the specifics of his contract and discuss plans for next season, but the talks fell through.

After signing superstar Kylian Mbappe to a new contract and electing to fire Pochettino, PSG is in the midst of making huge changes across the board.

Despite having an all-star line-up that included Lionel Messi and Neymar, the former Tottenham manager won Ligue 1 but failed to win the Champions League.

Luis Campos was introduced as PSG’s new football advisor off the field.
