In October of last year, the Division I Council approved changes to the NCAA Transfer Portal for basketball, reducing the time period from 60 consecutive days to 45 consecutive days. According to the NCAA, 61% of athletes who hit the portal did so within the first 30 days.
On April 5, Eric Musselman was officially introduced as USC head basketball coach after five seasons in Fayetteville. Just five days later, the Razorbacks formally introduced John Calipari as the program’s new head coach.
Calipari inherits a completely blank slate to work with in his first season at Arkansas, as all 13 players from last year’s roster are either out of eligibility, decommitted, in the transfer portal or declaring for the NBA Draft.
